Classic, Neutral, Sophisticated.
Venetian Marble, accurately named, is inspired by the classical venetian terrazzo. “Terrazzo”, the Italian word for terrace, first began to occur in 15th century Venice. At the end of a job, Italian marble workers were leftover with fragments of marble which they repurposed by laying them in clay floors. Soon it was popularised all over Italy, and then spread to America where it was highly appreciated. This created, what we know today, as a classic terrazzo pattern.
Venetian Marble celebrated the historical and cultural significance of terrazzo. This collection keeps the stone fragments at a smaller scale and a quite detailed pattern in neutral tones. Therefore, this collection really shines when exhibited in modern, minimalistic, indoor spaces.
This range is available in four shade combinations. Rainbow; a light-coloured base with a combination of warm browns, bright whites, and shades of grey fragments. Cloud; the same coloured fragments with a light grey base. Fog; the same coloured fragments with a medium grey base. And Storm; the same coloured fragments with a dark grey base. The tiles are available in two sizes; a square 600×600, and a rectangle 600×1195.
The homage to classical the terrazzo medium and the pure simplicity of this collection are the perfect combination for a timeless installation.
