Elemental, Stunning, Expressive
“Kasai” is the Japanese term for fire. This collection is inspired by Shou Sugi Ban which is a traditional Japanese artisanal technique of conserving and protecting wood. This is achieved by burning the wood and carbonising it. This collection is a stunning embodiment of nature and the complex relationship between wood and fire mediums. Kasai is the combination of traditional practice meeting modern innovative design.
This collection is abundant in uniqueness featuring tiles with no lack of adornment. Featuring beautifully textured planks with organic imagery of Sakura cherry blossoms, Samurai compositions, and Take bamboo. These painterly tiles will act as a graceful accent for any interior space contrasting angled architecture and complimenting organic forms within a space. Other tiles feature a high contrast design inspired by cracked ceramics. Dark planks with gold organic lines running through it and interconnecting organically and white planks with dark cracked lines can be a focal point on the wall in an ultra-mod space. Another beautiful feature in this collection is the wood plank inspired tiles that exhibit a koi fish armour pattern in tones reminiscent of burning wood.
This entire collection is available in textured pieces in size 250×1500 to evoke conditions of wooden planks. They can be mixed and matched to create a design heavy wall, or to create a more minimalist wall with stylised remnants of painterly design. The colours used in this range are a dynamic interpretation of aged wood, burning, and watercolour. Featuring dark blacks, rich browns, and orange hues, but also soft greys, pure whites, and pastel blue.
Although this collection is extremely stylised, it is still able to suit both modern, minimalist spaces, as well as earthy, romantic spaces.
